Primary sources

NJ Salary Calculator prioritizes official government publications for tax rates, wage bases, brackets, and exemptions. Secondary sites may help locate a document but are not treated as numeric authorities. See the data sources table for traceability.

Verification and publication

Tax inputs live in versioned configuration files so annual updates can be compared to IRS, SSA, and New Jersey agency releases. We do not publish unverified tax figures or unsupported factual claims. Calculator output is labeled as estimates, not personalized advice or guaranteed paycheck amounts.

Publication standards

Before release, user-facing claims, source references, tax parameters, formulas, and other factual content are checked against primary sources.

Testing

Automated tests exercise representative salaries, all supported filing statuses and pay frequencies, hourly conversion, zero and high incomes, and boundaries such as the Social Security wage base and New Jersey payroll wage caps. We do not claim independent external audit.
